Holistic, award-winning design

In 2025, despite still being new to the market, two of the hansgrohe product ranges visible in the dream bathroom received prestigious international iF Design Awards: the Xuniva Evo counter top wash basin and the Ecostat Comfort thermostatic mixers. A third, the Raindance Alive shower range even received the iF Gold Award and was named Red Dot Winner Best of the Best – the highest accolades, bestowed solely upon veritable design works of art. 

A blissful retreat and sensual design oasis

This model bathroom pampers with warm homeliness – and premium design that invites you to linger and run your hand over the surfaces. What interior design tricks were used to create the cosy effect? 

• Instead of cold tiles, the walls are clad in mineral plaster with an uneven finish. In a world where most of the surfaces we touch are smooth and sterile, like on smart phones or keyboards, we yearn for a more natural feel, haptic feedback and genuine imperfection. In the wet area of the shower, the mineral plaster is sealed with waterproof lacquer. The red, earthy shade continues along the floor and ceiling for a consistent colour scheme. Mineral plaster is also a practical choice as there are no joints to clean.
• Thanks to the textile finishes on the furniture and sliding partition, the bathroom feels particularly inviting; even the shower hose pampers the eye with a delicate textile mesh. The wooden wall behind the washplace is made of walnut veneer, and even the decorative features add vibrancy to the room through a natural wooden look. For example, the art on the walls or the stool that acts as both a seat and a shelf.
• The top half of the wall behind the washplace has been hand-painted using bold brushstrokes. Whether through plaster or wallpaper, add an artistic touch to your bathroom! Your custom work can be painted over or redesigned at any time.  
• A room-in-room concept divides your bathroom into individual feel-good areas, such as a washplace with a mirror and a warm light source, a floor-to-ceiling shower area and a toilet area. Many people want more privacy in these intimate areas, which can be achieved through the use of sliding elements. The flexible partition – clad in waterproof fabric – separates the areas as required, for greater privacy and a more homely feel.    
• The bathroom furniture offers plenty of storage space. All toiletries are neatly tidied away in the vanity unit, tall cabinet and recessed shower alcoves.
• Last but not least, this place of retreat makes it clear that a dark bathroom does not have to be cold, oppressive or non-cosy. Quite the opposite in fact.
