hansgrohe shower mixers can be operated using the single lever shower tap, rotary lever or (Select) push button. If multiple showers are in use, e.g. an overhead shower and a hand shower, the water source is toggled using the shower mixer’s diverter.

Depending on your preference for exposed or concealed installation, you can conveniently control a single shower with a single lever shower tap. All users will find the lever handle wonderfully convenient to use. If renovating, exposed taps can simply be attached to existing connections. A shower thermostat offers additional convenience and reliably protects you against fluctuations in the water pipes.
If you only have one consumer (= one shower), this can be intuitively controlled using an exposed thermostatic mixer. For two consumers, you can opt for a hansgrohe Showerpipe (= exposed shower system) that combines two showers with a thermostatic mixer and can be easily attached to existing connections. With two or more consumers, a concealed shower thermostat is both attractive and beneficial.
The shower mixer can be gently cleaned with a soft cotton cloth. Limescale is best removed using a citric-acid-based household cleaner. In many cases, it is possible to convert to a new design. If the hansgrohe iBox universal concealed base set has been installed, the hansgrohe and AXOR range provides a large number of modern pre-fab sets. This is the term used to refer to the slender control units on the wall. The new generation of the base set, the iBox universal 2, can be combined with all previous and future hansgrohe and AXOR pre-fab sets. In the case of older ranges, an adapter plate is simply required for installation.
In order to compensate for size differences, before installing the tap please ensure that the S connections have been fitted free of tension and that the specified installation dimensions have been observed. It is absolutely essential that you use the original seals; damaged seals must be replaced where necessary.
Yes. Exposed shower mixers are attached to standardised connections in the bathroom wall. This means they can be simply installed over the plaster. Concealed shower mixers are installed behind the wall and require a suitable basic set for concealed installation. hansgrohe’s iBox universal, which can be combined with most hansgrohe and AXOR pre-fab sets (control unit on the wall), is the perfect choice here.
